Beatings [VINYL]Opis:Having released their debut EP Cast A Shadow last year and recent single Last Desire to critical acclaim; Coves have already had the backing of BBC Radio 1s Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Nick Grimshaw, 6Musics Lauren Laverne, Don Letts and Radcliffe and Maconie and XFMs John Kennedy. They have also had support from NME, The Fly, The Line of Best Fit, Loud & Quiet, as well as Dazed & Confused, Clash, Planet Notion and had a much-coveted Guardian New Band of the Day. Their scuzzy cover of Chris Isaaks Wicked Game peaked at No. 1 on the Hype Machine last year and has since been used to advertise The White Queen drama series across BBC networks. An impressive feat for a band who until recently had been unsigned. They have previously supported the likes of Echo & the Bunnymen, Tom Vek and Dutch Uncles and played to a packed out tent at this years Latitude festival. Beatings mixed by Brendan Lynch (Primal Scream) is probably their most epic, psych-swirling proposition to date and makes Coves a tantalizing prospect for 2014. The duo consist of bewitching singer Rebekah Wood and multi-instrumentalist John Rigard.
